Attack centre, not us, Mayawati to Rahul

Lucknow, Nov 12 (IANS) Taking on Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati Saturday said he should vent his ire at the central government rather than expressing his anger against the state. Mayawati's statement comes in the wake of the Congress MP's comment that he feels sorry at the state of development in Uttar Pradesh. 'Instead of expressing his anger here, it would be better if he vent his ire at the Congress-led central government for its failure to contain inflation and adopting step-motherly treatment towards the development of the state,' Mayawati said at a function of a university. Gandhi had made the comment in an informal meeting with locals in the state's Bhadohi district recently.
