Shiv Sena today slammed Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan for throwing a lavish party at his residence when Mumbai was mourning the loss of lives in the triple bomb blasts that rocked the city on Wednesday.
The party's mouthpiece 'Saamna' said that the incident portrayed Khan, who has played a hero on the silver screen, as a villain in real life.
According to the paper, Friday's bash was to celebrate Katrina Kaif's birthday and a private screening of her latest release 'Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara'.
Besides SRK, Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Chunky Pandey, Abhay Deol, Katrina Kaif, Karan Johar, were prominent among those present at the party.
Shah Rukh was not available for comments. "@iamsrk thanks for the super celebration last night. A perfect end to the release day... Love (sic)," tweeted Farhan yesterday. Also spotted arriving at the party were actresses Karishma Kapoor and Amrita Arora.
Sena's paper said several prominent personalities had decided to forgo their birthday and Guru Poornima celebrations in view of the blasts.
Even Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had declined to receive an honour bestowed upon her by the French Government on the day of the blasts. "But, Shah Rukh did not have the sentiment to cancel the party," the paper said.
Shiv Sena has been targetting SRK since he lamented the exclusion of Pakistani players from IPL third season after the 26/11 terror attacks.
